Time Series Forcast

I have seen over the last 1 year that the 12 period & 26 period Time Series Forecast works very we both in End Of Day and Intraday charts. This is observed in Capital Markets, Futures & Options as well as US Dollar Indian rupee Futures.

The Time Series Forecast is a very volatile indicator as all accurate indicators are apt to be.

It is calculated on the closing price, hence, one must wait for the Bar to complete, be it the 15 min, 30 min, hourly or daily charts.

Have a profitable experience as I have been doing for last 15 years.

Intraday 5 min Chart Trading System .

I have designed this strategy and trading it for almost 2 months .
Earlier I used to trade using a similar strategy which is a bit complicated which I have already posted before
Risk:Reward = 1: 3

The strategy consits of 3 Indicators

1. Supertrend Indicator - Setting (10,10)
2. Stochastic - Setting (5,3,3)
3. Average True Range - Setting ( 14 )

Buy Rule

As long as the price is above the super trend indicator , you will buy when ever the stochastic gives a crossover below level 20 ( oversold)

Sell Rule

As long as the price is below the super trend indicator , you will sell whenever the stochastic gives a crossover above level 80 ( ovebought )

Averge True Range is used for determining Stop Loss levels .

Example - Your Signal to buy came at Rs 500 , and at thar time Atr value is Rs 2 , you will put your stoploss 1.5 times the Art below your purchase price which is here Rs 3 , so your stoploss will be at Rs 497 and will be booking profits at 3 times the stoploss which is here is Rs 10 meaning you will be booking profit at Rs 509 .

Reasons for using such a high value in Super trend is that it will reduce market noise and gives clear direction of trend .

Trade stocks from nifty which have a price range between 400 to 600 rupees

Or you can select high volatity stock from mid cap with the same price range

To know about the risk management rules see my earlier post .

AA+ Indicator VertexFX

Hello,

I have converted the AA+ indicator to VertexFX client side VTL Script.

It is based on the alligator indicator. The AA+ indicator uses the alligator moving averages and price bars to find trend. It calculates the width between these moving averages and price bars, and quantifies the width. It then compares this value against a threshold level to identify trend reversals. The alligator moving averages are not plotted by AA+ indicator. However it plots a histogram for the quantified width between these moving averages, blue for uptrend and red for down trend. When the red histogram is above the threshold level, it is beginning of a down trend and when blue histogram is above threshold level, it is beginning of a new up trend.

Hope this is useful to VertexFX terminal users.

The net is a treasure trove of information. Sometimes, we read, and then forget. So starting this thread to post articles in the nature of Self-help and other lighter and interesting stuff. As traders, we all go thru anxiety. So here's an article that can help alleviate it.

3 Common Anxiety Traps And How To Avoid Them - Catherine DiBenedetto

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/0...iteOverride=in

If you’re an anxious person, you’ve probably been told your whole life not to worry so much -- to “stop overthinking things” and “just relax.” By now, you’ve perhaps given up on trying to feel better and resigned yourself to the idea that there’s just something wrong with you. But that’s not true, says Alice Boyes, PhD, author of the The Anxiety Toolkit. “It’s good that we have some people in our tribe who are bold and some who are cautious -- that creates a normal [bell] curve, with different types of people on either end,” Boyes explained in an interview with Health. As she argues in her new book, “the problem is when anxiety gets to the point that it’s paralyzing. I think of these bottlenecks as anxiety traps.” Boyes describes the process of climbing out of these traps as “fine-tuning” your mind. “You’re learning how to work with your own hardware and software in the most effective way,” she says. Here, she offers advice on how to escape from three of the most common traps.

1. You hesitate to act until you’re 100-percent ready A large part of anxiety is having an “intolerance of uncertainty,” says Boyes. It involves a fear of failure, and can keep you mired in contemplation mode. You may have a tendency to consider many ideas without ever trying any of them. Or you may find yourself perpetually stuck in the research phase of projects.

Free yourself: “Anxiety-prone people tend to focus on the worst possible outcomes,” so they worry too much about the risk to take action, explains Boyes. But the truth is, there’s usually a spectrum of possibilities: “When I worked as a therapist, I used to tell my clients to identify the worst thing that could happen, the best thing and the most realistic thing. And to do it in that order.” The idea is to help yourself acknowledge the opportunities that exist along with the risks, so you feel safer when making a move.

Another trick is to make a plan for how you’d cope if the worst-case scenario came true. “Worriers are always thinking, What if? But they never actually answer that question.” Rather than constantly trying to avoid the negative outcomes, make an action plan. This can boost your perception of yourself as someone who can handle adversity when it strikes, which can be calming.

2. You obsess about mistakes Over-thinking past missteps -- meaning you’re replaying them again and again in your mind -- is called ruminating, and it can leave you tangled up in knots.

Free yourself: “Sometimes a good way to escape the cycle is to come up with concrete steps for moving forward,” Boyes says. She suggests you start by jotting down three possible actions you can take now. For example, if you’ve recently hired a new employee who isn’t working out, rather than beat yourself up over missing holes in his resume or other signs, define your options: 1) You could give him less responsibility 2) Provide more guidance 3) Fire him. “Making the list shifts your mind into a more productive mode,” Boyes explains.

3. You dread criticism Anxious people often go out of their way to avoid feedback because they already judge themselves harshly, and criticism from the outside is especially upsetting. “Plus, you may know that you’ll be replaying the critique in your mind for days and weeks to come, and that makes it even harder,” Boyes adds.

Free yourself: Try acting relaxed when you get a review. Even though you may feel crushed or defensive, send physical signals that you’re appreciative, Boyes suggests. Drop your shoulders. Lift your head. Relax your hands. This isn’t just an act: “Your feelings and thoughts will quickly catch up with your nonverbal cues.”

It may help to have some canned responses prepared in case you need to stall. For example, you could say, “Let me think about how best to proceed from here. I’ll email you with some thoughts.” That will buy you some time to mentally process the information and respond in a productive way.

Sir,

It seems that some members have been banned today (Kiran_thiru, Mungerilal and maybe some more). Has it been done in error ? Please look into it and unban them, if possible.

Thanks

Note : I did report one post by mungerilal because I thought it was inappropriate in my thread, but IMO not sufficient cause for banning, and Kiran_thiru is a respectable member and his banning is completely baffling. Many of us look forward to his charts at EOD.

Edit : I just noticed that manishchan is also banned..

Hello Guys, this ITL thing is much in news these days, specially because Kapil Dev is advertising for it.

I have not registered for it, but I visited their website and picked up the following.

1) The broker is SAMCO (formerly Samruddhi)
2) The trading platform is what they call SAMCO trader, looks like Nest trader to me.
3) The charges are competitive and comparable to the other discount brokers. Here's the charges list. I don't know about the account opening charges.
4) They don't seem to have Bracket order, at least not in their span calculator.
5) The minimum initial capital is Rs. 25000/-

Anything else ? Please use this thread for comments about Indiantradingleage/ SAMCO.

Anyone here using SAMCO's services ? Give your feedback please.
