how they bought bulk of shares...??

hello all
i heard this type of news many times that someone bought bulk of shares of a company like latest news it fame investor jhunjhunwala's bought 2+crores share of "firstsource".and many other banks and investment firms do like this.and i have a little question that how they buy these shares.via simply through online like we do or via any other transaction method....??:)
